MaryAnn Bradley

MaryAnn Bradley 80 of Knox, IN, passed away June 8, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. MaryAnn was born on January 14, 1944 in Chicago, IL. She is the daughter of the late John J. Suda and Eleanore Suda from Chicago, IL. She graduated from Lourdes High School in Chicago in 1962 and was an avid piano player. While growing up she enjoyed spending summers at her family cottage in Bass Lake, IN. There she met and later married Joseph Bradley, Jr. on April 4, 1971. They had two children. She is survived by her daughter Tammy (David) Holdread and her son Mark (“The General”) Bradley, granddaughter Myah Craft (Darius Holland) and her great grandson Noah Holland all of Knox. She is also survived by three step grandchildren, Clarissa (Bill) Balder, Kayla Holdread (Adam), Josh (Amber) Holdread. She was preceded in death by her parents. MaryAnn attended college at Purdue North Central and graduated with a nursing degree. She worked at Little Company of Mary in San Pierre, IN and Starke Memorial Hospital as an ER nurse for many years. After her divorce from Joe in 1991, she and her son Mark moved to Nashville, TN. There she worked at Centennial Hospital as an ER nurse. She loved Nashville, enjoyed country music, and going downtown. She even obtained a part time job as a bartender on Broadway with no experience, just to have the opportunity to meet all of the famous country music artists and cowboys in tight jeans. Her heart has always remained in Nashville and she met many life-long friends. In 1998, she moved back to Knox and worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Plymouth, IN as an ER nurse. She retired in 2009, but continued to work PRN as a case management nurse doing follow up phone calls for the ER until they downsized and cut her position in 2022. She was 78 years old at that time. Emergency nursing was her true calling. She loved her job and was devoted to all of her patients and a mentor to many good nurses. MaryAnn was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. Her family meant the world to her. She loved going on road trips to Nashville as often as she could. She hated staying home. MaryAnn was loved unconditionally and her smile and compassion for others is why she was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. MaryAnn didn’t want anything sad so a celebration of life is being planned for a later date. The family requests Memorial contributions be made in MaryAnn’s memory to The Down Syndrome family and Advocacy group (Michiana Down Syndrome) or Church of the Heartland (Starke County). Flowers may be sent to the family.
