Mary Jane Bailey

HAMLET- Mary J. Bailey of Hamlet passed away on Friday, May 19, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Walkerton, IN. She was born on June 10, 1942 to the late Clifford and Katherine (Fagen) Coffin. She was 80 years old at the time of her death. Mary lived in the area most of her life. She was a social butterfly, always eager to connect with others and create lasting memories. She possessed an innate ability to light up the room with her warm smile. Alongside her beloved sister, Mary embarked on countless adventures in their shared pursuit of yard sales. Together they spent countless hours traveling and searching for the best finds. Mary possessed a remarkable intellect and sense of curiosity, making her the walking encyclopedia of the family. Atop being the walking encyclopedia, many loved ones would also refer to her as the family historian. One of Mary’s simple pleasures was gathering over a cup of coffee with her family. No matter the occasion, those moments spent sipping coffee were savored and treasured. Mary’s legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. She is survived by two sons Richard (Krystal Greer) Thomas of Plymouth and Robert (Pam) Thomas of Nappanee; seven grandchildren Heather Thomas of Laporte, Robert (Andrea) Mason of Houston, Texas, Garrett (Lauren) Thomas of Goshen, Dan (Jen) Shippy of Englewood, Florida, Everett Bostic of Koontz Lake and Cierra Thomas & Steven Mayfield both of Nappanee; eight great grandchildren Gracie Thomas, Wesley Shippy, Chloe Mayfield, Lilly Mayfield, McKennea Mayfield, Alex Mason, Tyler Mason, and Zachary Mason; three siblings Eunice Elder of North Judson, Marilyn Gullans of Knox, and Howard (Shirlene) Coffin of Hamlet. She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Darlene Grossman, and two brothers Donald Coffin & Warren Coffin Sr. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 AM CDT to 12:00 PM CDT Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM CDT Saturday, June 3, 2023 (immediately following visitation), also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery, Hamlet, IN.
