Dorothy K. "Dolly" Ewing

ROCHESTER – Dorothy K. “Dolly” Ewing passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 7, 2023 following an illness. She was born on September 12, 1950 in East Chicago to the late John J. Patrick and Dorothy E. (Schneider) Coad and was 73 years-old at the time of her death. She lived in the rural Knox area most of her life before recently moving to Rochester. On January 31, 1970 in Monterey, IN she married the love of her life Richard Paul Ewing, who precedes her death. Dolly had retired from Eaton Corporation in Winamac, and recently worked at the Community Thrift Store in Rochester. Dolly was a member of the Christian Center Church in South Bend. She had a deep love and faith in the Lord and showed this by her continuous reading of her Bible and going to church whenever she could for praise and worship. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks, going to car shows and the beach, and fishing when she was younger. Most of all Dolly cherished her family dearly, especially going to breakfast or any other function with them. Her absolute favorite times were spent with her grandkids and going to all of their sporting and other events. This extended to her beloved dog and cats. Dolly is survived by her daughter Misty Andrzejewski of Culver; five grandchildren Kyra (Matthew) Reed of Plymouth, Anthony (Sarah) Hatter of Bremen, Kaylen Andrzejewski of Culver, Colton Hatter of Rochester, and Eliana Andrzejewski of Culver; two great-granddaughters Ava and Mable; two sisters Mary (Edward) Tauteris of North Judson and Peggy Patrick-Childers of Bass Lake; two brothers Edward (Angie) Coad of Monterey and James (Nancy) Coad of Knox; one sister-in-law Cathy Benko of Knox; two brothers-in-law Gerald Ewing of Culver and Jeff (Renee) Ewing of Rochester. She is preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law Carroll and LaVerna Ewing; one sister-in-law Judith Ewing; one brother-in-law Gerald Benko; and one great nephew Cameron Lee Patrick. Graveside Services will be at 1:00 CST on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Eagle Creek Cemetery, Knox (the intersection of county roads 700 East and 25 North). There will not be any other services held at the funeral home or church.
