Caroline Kaser

Caroline L. “Cookie” Kaser of Koontz Lake passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Saturday, July 18, 2026, following an illness. She was 84 years old. Born on June 27, 1942, in East Chicago, Indiana, Cookie was the beloved daughter of the late LaVon C. Miller and Dorothea (Jacobson) McQuisten. Throughout her life, she was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved most. Cookie enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a Train Engineer with Amtrak before retiring. She was proud of her work and the many years she dedicated to her profession. She was also a past member of the Rebekkah Lodge, where she found lasting friendships and generously gave of her time while participating in numerous lodge activities and community events. Above all else, Cookie’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose home and heart were always open to those she loved. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with them, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Her warmth, compassion, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Cookie is lovingly remembered by her five daughters, Penny (Kenny) Stafford, Robin Kaser, Kandi (Rich) Kennedy, Hope Kaser, and Gina (Tony Crabill) Kaser; her son, Roger (Angela Brown) Kaser; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Rasler and Melissa (Roger) McCartney; one brother, Michael Miller; and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather Art McQuisten; one beloved grandson; one sister Diane Miller, and two brothers, Terrance Miller and Charles “Butch” Miller. Honoring Cookie’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and her family will celebrate her life privately. There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Though she has left this earthly life, the love Cookie shared so freely and the memories she created with her family will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
