Betty L. Haug

Betty Louise Haug, 85, of Koontz Lake, IN, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 13, 2025 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN following an illness. Betty was born in North Bend Township, IN on February 1, 1940 to the late Roy Jennings Forrest and Carmen Ercell (Payne) Miller. Betty lived a life grounded in faith, devoted to family, and defined by kindness and perseverance. Betty graduated from West High School. On October 12, 1958, in Donaldson, IN, Betty married the love of her life, Arthur Haug Jr., with whom she shared a loving and steadfast union until his passing in 2012. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the guiding principles of their Christian faith. A strong believer and devoted member of Plymouth Wesleyan Church, Betty remained active in Bible studies and cherished her church community. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she lived it daily through her gentle spirit, her compassion, and her unwavering love for those around her. In addition to being a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Betty was periodically employed as a book keeper and was once partner in a local restaurant. No matter the task, she carried herself with diligence and humility, always finding joy in serving others. She liked to travel but was just as content to be at home with her small dogs (Skeeter and Shadow), or entertaining family and friends with a warm meal or cup of coffee with a desert. She is survived by her son, Robert Wayne Haug (Anita), son-in-law, Chris Giovannetti; four grandchildren: Arthur Wayne Haug I (Lilly), Joshua Robert Haug (Lynice), Te’a Natasha Rader (Adam); and Kirstin Louise Pinkleton (Chris); and five great grandchildren: Wyld, Rowyn, Jagger, Nova and Chevelle. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arthur; her daughter, Shari Louise Giovannetti; and four siblings: Pauline, Everett, Devon, and Phylis. Visiting hours will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Central Time) on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. (Central Time) on Monday, November 24, also at the funeral home, with additional visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Grovertown Cemetery. Betty will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her deep love for her family, and the gentle grace she shared with all who knew her.
