William Selby

WEST LAFAYETTE-William Selby, 78, formerly of Hanna, IN, passed away January 21, 2013 in Indiana Veteran's Home, West Lafayette. Mr. Selby was born April 15, 1934 in Hanna to Melvin and Katherine (Bigler) Selby. On December 19, 1954 in Michigan City, he was married to Lois Thompson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include one daughter, Laura (Craig) Willems of West Lafayette; three sons, Mark Selby of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeff (Lavaunda) Selby of South Bend and Bert (Lois) Selby of English, IN; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and sister, Sandra Yung of Hamlet. Mr. Selby was a former employee of Kaiser Aluminum in Wanatah. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a past member of the Hanna Lutheran Church and the Hanna United Methodist Church. He spent time wintering in Texas and wintered in Florida the last winter before he became ill. He enjoyed traveling with his late wife, Lois, and never knew a stranger, easily making friends wherever he went. Funeral services will be Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. (Central Time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Burial will follow at the Hanna Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CT and Friday after 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
