William "Bill" Fannin

SYRACUSE-William "Bill" Isaac Fannin, 89, of Syracuse, IN passed away February 12, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 27, 1922 to Herbert and Goldie Fannin of Garrett, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Wanda L. Fannin; two sons, Dennis and John Fannin, both of South Bend; four step-daughters; two step-sons; one sister, Lois Blosser of North Liberty; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Polly Lemert, Virginia Walls and Betty Halsey and two brothers, Junior and Don Litterell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving for four years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #356. Bill enjoyed being with his family, fishing, gardening and bluegrass music. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 12:00 Noon (Eastern Time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake, IN where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend. The family would like to thank Dr. Max Mertz and caregivers at the Hospice Cancer Care Unit of IU Health Goshen Hospital.
