Wendell "Sonny" West

CULVER-Wendell E. "Sonny" West, 74, passed away Friday, November 8th, 2013. Wendell was born September 24th, 1939, in LaPorte, Indiana, to Wendell F. and Alice (Ott) West and lived in the area all his life. On April 28th, 1973, in Knox, Indiana, he was married to the former Sharon Thompson, who survives. He is also survived by three children, Wally (Brenda) Palmer of Knox, Patty (Elias) Ortiz of Plymouth and Brenda (Eldon) Louderback of Knox; one sister, Florence; two brothers, Robert West and Ronald West; and four grandchildren, Shelly, Jonnie, Elias and Joe. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sharon; and one brother, Morrie. Wendell was a retired laborer at Indiana Heat. There will be a memorial service Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Central Time with a gathering with the family one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
