KNOX-Wayne C. Singleton, 92, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in his home after a brief illness. Mr. Singleton was born March 28, 1919 in Davis Township, IN to Charles and Gladys (Coffin) Singleton and lived in the area all of his life. On October 21, 1939 in Starke County, IN he was married to Bertha Mae Jordan. Survivors include his wife, Bertha; two sons, Harry (Virginia) Singleton and Charles (Noel) Singleton, all of Knox; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Singleton of Florida and one sister, Evelyn Peterson of Knox. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Mr. Singleton was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Knox United Methodist Church, the Indiana Flying Farmers, the Experimental Aircraft Association, the Knox Moose Lodge and the Starke County Aviation Club. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. (Central Time) at the Knox United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Fletcher Cemetery, Hamlet. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel and Saturday at the church after 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, MI.
