Taren E. (Gilson) Abair

GROVERTOWN – Taren E. (Gilson) Abair passed away on Friday July 24, 2020 from injuries suffered in an auto accident in LaPorte County. She was born on November 15, 1990 in Fort Worth, TX and lived in the Hamlet area most of her life. On March 4, 2016 she married the love of her life Zach Abair who survives. Taren was a delivery driver for Howling Logistics driving for Amazon delivery. She was a 2010 graduate of Oregon-Davis High School where she excelled in sports (especially cheerleading) and was Prom Queen her senior year. She had a contagious smile that complimented her ability to make friends in an instant. Taren loved music, especially going to concerts where she made sure everyone arrived extra early so they could enjoy the best seats for the show. Family gatherings were very important to her, as was spending time with loved ones and friends. Most of all she was an amazing mother that made her two daughters the absolute love of her life. Taren is survived by her husband Zach Abair of Grovertown; two daughters Kora and Hudsyn Abair of Grovertown; mother Paula Gilson of Hamlet; father and step-mother Rick and Beverly Gilson of Argos; two sisters Ashley (Jim Jr.) Goble of Hamlet and AnneMarie Gilson of Knox; one brother Jordan Gilson of Koontz Lake; three grandparents Gail (Marvin) Hine of Hamlet, Walter Smith of Fort Worth, TX, and LaVern Gilson of Valparaiso. She is preceded in death by one grandfather Robert Gilson. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 CDT on Saturday August 1 at the Koontz Lake Missionary Church, 8044 N. IN-23, Walkerton (Koontz Lake), IN 46574. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering from 11:00 to the time of service, also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel is deeply honored to be entrusted with the care of Taren.
