Samuel "Sam" Barnett

April 6, 1945 - September 25, 2021

WALKERTON – Samuel “Sam” Barnett passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth following a sudden illness. He was born on April 6, 1945 in Ora, IN to the late Kenneth Barnett and Beatrice Smith, and was 76 years-old at the time of his death. He lived in the area most of his life and was a retired Contractor. On September 30, 1989 in Knox, he married Roberta Guyse, who survives. Sam was well known as a very hard-working craftsman who owned Sturdee-Built Construction with which he has the upmost pride in his work. He came from an era in time where he lived by traditions that are lost in today’s world. Sam is survived by his loving wife Roberta of Walkerton; one daughter April (Jeff) Ledbetter of Barnesville, GA; two sons Sam E. (Tammy) Barnett of North Judson and Ken (Patience Watson) Barnett of Walkerton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister EdnaMae; and three brothers David, Edward, and Edgar. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son Jesse Barnett; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 EDT Monday, October 4, 2021 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Visiting hours will be from Noon to 2:00 EDT also on Monday, October 4 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Round Lake Cemetery, Knox.
