KNOX-Royce Frank Keiser, 96, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019 at his home. Royce was born April 22, 1923 to Frank Marion Keiser and Erma Lucile (Alcorn) Keiser on South Shield Street in Knox, Indiana. He was baptized in the Yellow River in 1941. Royce was the oldest of three siblings; Lucile, Bonnie and Twyla. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the 156 F.A.B.N. 44th Infantry Division. After the Japanese surrender in 1945, he came home to marry his sweetheart, Betty Lee Emigh on August 4, 1945. They lived a wonderful and prosperous life together and had five children. He was employed at Howmet in LaPorte, Indiana until his retirement on June 1, 1987, after 28 years of service. Royce loved God and going to church. He loved his family, working in his yard making flower beds for Betty and especially loved fishing, shown by the many fishing trips he and Betty took to Wisconsin. He will be forever be missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Royce was a member of the Eagle Creek Church, where he was a Deacon. His favorite Bible verse, which he made a point to tell all of his children, was John 3:16: “for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” He will be remembered by his family for his kindness, as he was always smiling, laughing and singing, regardless of whose company he had. He had a big sense of humor, a big heart and was always willing to help someone in need, regardless of who it was. He was also a lifelong Cubs fan who finally got to witness a World Series win in 2016. Royce is survived by his sons, Larry (Karin) Keiser and Les (Maggie) Keiser; his daughters, Linda (Tom) Holt, Lee Ann (Skip) Buzbee and Lana (Bobby) Decker, all of Knox; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bonnie Scott of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Betty (Emigh) Keiser; sisters, Lucille Keiser and Twyla White; his parents, Frank and Erma Keiser; a son-in-law; and a grandson. A celebration of life will take place Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. CDT at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. A gathering of friends will take place Wednesday at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the service. Burial at Eagle Creek Cemetery, Knox will follow the service with Military Honors being conducted.
