Ronald A. Savoie Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

WALKERTON-Ronald August Savoie, 79, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in South Bend at the home of his son and daughter-in law, Roger and Michelle. Ronald was born October 28, 1932 in Dryburg, MI to Edmund and Lucy Savoie and lived in the area most of his life. On June 14, 1952 in Sault Ste Marie, MI, he was married to the former Dixie Sims, who survives. Also surviving are: two sons, Roger Savoie of South Bend and Randy Savoie of Grovertown; two sisters, Sister Luciene Savoie and Sister Mary Savoie, both of Concordia, KS; two brothers, Cloment Savoie of Rudyard, MI and Peter Savoie of North Dakota; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one daughter, Robin Lee Hartsell; one son, Ronald Keith Savoie and six brothers. Ronald was a former carpenter employed by the Carpenter's Local 413 of South Bend. He was a member of St. Patrick Church of Walkerton and the Knights of Columbus of the church. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern Time) in St. Patrick Church, Walkerton. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton where a military graveside service will be conducted. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. ET and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. A Knights of Columbus service will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Patrick Church, 801 Tyler St., Walkerton, IN 46574.
