Robert Yakim Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Koontz Lake– Robert Yakim of Koontz Lake passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Hamilton Grove of New Carlisle. He was born on February 28, 1953, in South Bend to the late Steve Yakim and Mary (Farrell) Wilson and was 69 years old at the time of his death. He lived in the Koontz Lake area for the most of his life and was a proud owner and operator of Yakim’s Tree Service. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. Furthermore, he enjoyed spending time with his family and especially with his beloved beagle dog Forrest. Robert is survived by 3 daughters; Jessica (Shawn) Yakim, Sarah (Joe) Funk-Adkins, and Rebecca Yakim all of Walkerton, IN; 6 grandchildren Jayne, Morgan, Hailey, Ella, Adam and Sophia; 6 great grandchildren Natalyee, Claire, Krew, Nixon, Vincent and Briggs; 1 brother James Yakim of South Bend, IN; 1 sister Ruth (Don) Knowlton of South Bend, IN; and by his beloved dog Forrest. He is preceded in death by his parents. It was Roberts wishes to be cremated and a memorial service will be held on August 7, 2022 @ 4 PM EST at the Rannells Funeral Home Koontz Lake Chapel. From 2-4 PM EST on August 7, 2022, at the same location, there will be a gathering of friends and family in remembrance of Robert.
