KOONTZ LAKE-Robert Allen Wieczork, 64, passed away peacefully in his home Monday, March 14, 2011 after a brief illness. Bob was born May 7, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Matthew and Louise (Miciek) Wieczork and lived in the area most of his life. On July 7, 1993 in LaPorte County, he was married to Nancy Gjemre Huff. Survivors include: his wife, Nancy; one daughter, Jeanine (Casey) Brissette of Koontz Lake; one son, Matthew Wieczork of Hamlet; two step-daughters, Nicole (Dr. John) Arnold of Granger and Lindsey Huff of Chicago; six grandchildren, Haley, Logan, Alivia & Alexis Brissette and Molly and Lauren Arnold; sister-in-law, Jeana Shireman of Midlothian, VA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jody and Joe Rannells of Koontz Lake and many nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald. Bob was a graduate of Oregon-Davis High School in 1964, where he participated in many sports. He graduated from Ball State University in 1968 and obtained a Master's Degree and Principal’s License from Indiana State University in 1976. Bob taught at Oregon-Davis High School and North Newton High School. He was an assistant principal at John Glenn High School and principal at Urey Middle School. During those years, he coached basketball and golf. In 1980, he joined the sales force at Jostens as Manager and Sales Representative and planned to retire in June. Bob wished to thank his special friends: Fred Goldt, who stood by him during his battle with his brain tumor; his office manager, Sherry Chang; long-time friend, Tom Hall and all of his colleagues and faithful friends over the years. A memorial service will be Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel where friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. Cremation has taken place with private burial at Grovertown Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637 or MD Anderson Brain Tumor Center. Bob’s favorite hymn was “Set Your Heart on the Higher Gifts” and he especially loved the verse, “these three gifts are all that remain: faith, hope and love, and the greatest is love.”
