Philip Leo Braun

April 14, 1944 - April 17, 2021

PLYMOUTH – Philip Leo Braun Sr. passed away on Saturday April 17, 2021 in his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 14, 1944 in Lowell to the late Louis and Rose (Geisler) Braun and was 77 years-old at the time of his death. Philip married the love of his life, Suellen Thiel on November 5, 1966 in St. John and they shared 54 wonderful years together. He has lived in the area for 47 years coming from St. John, IN. Philip was a long-time farmer and was also a retire Carpenter having worked for the Carpenters Union out of Gary. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Walkerton where he was also a 3rd degree member of their Knights of Columbus. He was also a veteran of the US Army Reserve. Most of all, Philip cherished his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Suellen; seven children Rene (Anthony) Hellmann of CT, Jennifer (Richard) Guernsey of MI; Marie (Bill) Neumann of IN; Kristen (Ivan) McCammack of IN, Philip Jr. of IN, Robert of NV, and James (Lisa) of IN; twelve grandsons; four granddaughters; two great grandchildren; three sisters Marion House of WI, Barbara Braun of CA, and Bernadine (Robert) Seifrig of IN; and one brother Thomas (Barbara) of IN. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son Anton B.; and one brother Anton R. A viewing will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 EDT on Wednesday April 21 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests either sending landscape plants or making Memorial Contributions to St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish or Heartland Hospice. They also request all Covid recommendations be followed including proper wearing of facemasks at all times and observing proper social distancing.
