Glenda Mae Melton

December 14, 1947 - October 27, 2020

GROVERTOWN – Glenda Mae Melton passed away on Tuesday. October 27, 2020 at the VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso following an illness. She was born on December 14, 1947 in Alabama to the late Stancil and Edith Danner and was 72 years-old at the time of her death. Glenda lived in the area since 1976 coming from Portage, IN. She married the love of her life, John Melton, on November 17, 1967 in Saulk Village, IL. She was a retired School Bus Driver where she served 22 faithful years driving for the Oregon-Davis School Corporation. Glenda loved her family deeply and was an avid fisherman. She is survived by: her husband John of Grovertown; three sons John (Amy) on Great Falls, VA, Jim of Grovertown, and Jeffrey of Mishawaka; six grandchildren Cora, Kelsey, Ally, Olivia, Ella, and Parker; one brother Tony of Michigan; and one sister Billie Jo of Colorado. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 CST Sunday, November 1 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Visiting hours will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 CST also on Sunday at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 Monday, November 2 at the Blake Cemetery, Portage, IN. Due to Covid-19 mandates and guidelines face coverings and social distancing are required inside at all times.
