Eugene "Gene" Miller

LAPORTE-Eugene "Gene" Miller, 79, of LaPorte, formerly of Knox, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 in Golden Living Center-Countyside, LaPorte, IN. Gene was born July 10, 1933 in Salyersville, KY to Jake and Lillie (Prater) Miller and lived in the area most of his life. He was a former employee of Conrail and a member of the Knox Moose Lodge. Survivors include two daughters, Jeanie (Mike) Marsh of Knox and Julie Ann Joseph of North Judson; two sons, Randy Gene (Ann) Miller of Warrenville, IL and Dennis Gene Wireman of Knox; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Marsh, Steven Marsh, Nicole Radtke, Patricia Miller, Tiffany Joseph, Alyssa Wireman and Eric Wireman; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Everee Allen and Edie Fugate and one brother, Orville Ray Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronnie Joe Miller; two sisters, three brothers and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Friday, April 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. (Central Time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Burial will follow at the Oak Park Cemetery, Knox. Friends may call Friday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
