Walkerton - Edna M. Hatt, 78, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN. Mrs. Hatt was born October 21, 1935 in Loveland, OH to Walter and Annie (Anderson) Morris and lived in the area for six years, coming from Plymouth. On October 5, 1957 in Loveland, OH, she was married to James E. Hatt. Survivors include her husband, James; children, Sarah (Kevin) Napier of Midland, TX, Jonathan (Allyson) Hatt of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada,and Mary (Dave) McQuaid of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Scott (Robin) Napier, Kyle Napier, Johanna Hatt, Abagayil Hatt, Angharad Hatt, Caleb McQuaid and Carson McQuaid. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frank, John, and Calvin Morris; and two sisters, Mary Hughes and Zeadell Terry. Mrs. Hatt was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Liberty and a graduate of Loveland High School. She served the Lord as a pastor's wife, willing to move wherever the Lord called them to minister. She taught Sunday School and deeply loved singing solos and participating in the church choir. Edna enjoyed creating things for others. Even after suffering a stroke and losing the use of her right hand, she made needlepoint quilts for her children, grandchildren, and babies in the church. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) in the First Baptist Church of North Liberty with Pastor Wayne Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Friends may call Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel and Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the church.
