Dona "Dolly" McCormick

KOONTZ LAKE-Dona "Dolly" McCormick, 78, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Dolly was born October 6, 1934 in Gary, IN to Don and Mary (Major) Harrison and lived at Koontz Lake for 35 years, coming from Portage. On October 21, 1950 in Gary, she was married to John "Mac" McCormick, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Danny McCormick, her parents, two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include four children, Jack (Annie) McCormick of Virginia City, MT, Gary McCormick of Koontz Lake, Debra (Les) Slatton of Osceola and Maureen (Drew) Adams of New Carlisle; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Krupa of Portage and Laurel Parish of Mendham, NJ; brother-in-law, James (Budah) King of Portage; sister-in-law, Antoinette Harrison of Portage and special friend, Bill Ellinger of Koontz Lake. Dolly was the former co-owner of Mac's Auto Sales in Portage and co-owner and manager of Dolly & Mac's Tavern at Koontz Lake. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. CST in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will follow at the Grovertown Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, South Bend.
