Daisy N. Stradley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

GROVERTOWN-Daisy N. Stradley, 93, passed away October 30, 2012 in Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson. Mrs. Stradley was born July 15, 1919 in Grovertown, IN to Fred and Nellie (Blossey) Hill. In 1938, she was married to Cecil Whitcraft, who preceded her in death in 1965 and in 1980 she was married to Bob Stradley, who preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: two sons, James Whitcraft of Grovertown and John (Mary) Whitcraft of Bellingham, WA; four grandchildren, Ellen Whitcraft of Bellingham, WA, Josh (Susie) Whitcraft of Pennsylvania, James (Tamara) Whitcraft Jr. and Ray (Lisa) Whitcraft, all of Grovertown; five great-grandchildren, Shawn (Linley), Ashley, Chelsea, Emma and Josie and her wonderful friend, Peggy Land, that was like a daughter to her. Through moving away, marriage, children and grandchildren, Peg has always kept up her friendship with Daisy. Mrs. Stradley was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church of Knox and a retired employee of Five Star in Knox. She was an avid reader. She read anything and everything, but her greatest hobby was quilting. She made many quilts for family, friends, raffles at church and the nursing home while living there. She also did embroidery and crocheting. She loved Jeopardy and crossword puzzles and she kept up with all of these hobbies until falling ill a few weeks before passing. There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel is handling arrangements.
