WALKERTON-Cleo B. Awald, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in Bremen Health Care Center, Bremen, IN. Cleo was born April 19, 1923 in Livingston, IL to Fred L. and Mary Ann (Conaty) Ames and lived in the area most all of her life. On October 23, 1943 in Falls County, TX, she was married to Fredrick O. Awald, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and four brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (John) Graybill of LaGrange, IN and Carole (Lawrence) Noble of Walkerton; two sons, Jerry (Peggy) Awald of Knox and Ora Jay (Mary) Awald of Walkerton; grandchildren, Collen Stout, Kelly Awald, Jeremy Awald, Kristy Stafford, Jamie Noble, Tricia Huitt, Fredrick Awald, Katie Awald and Jesse Awald and 13 great grandchildren. Cleo was a former QMA at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth. She and her husband, Fredrick, farmed for many years. She was a former member of the Oregon Township Advisory Board for 32 years, serving as secretary and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary Hamlet & Walkerton. Funeral services will be Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Central Time in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel with Rev. Lloyd George officiating. Burial will follow at the Grovertown Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Koontz Lake Fire Department.
