Arthur R. Haug, Jr.

October 5, 1937 - January 2, 2012

Gilman, IL-Arthur R. Haug Jr., 74, of Gilman, IL, formerly of Plymouth, IN, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 in Watseka, IL. Mr. Haug was born in Chicago on October 5, 1937 to Arthur and Florence (Goze) Haug. At an early age, his family moved to Plymouth from Chicago. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving four years. He married Betty Miller on October 12, 1958 in Donaldson, IN and together they raised two children. Mr. Haug was a foreman at several door plants in Plymouth, IN, Coldwater, MI and Richmond and Petersburg, VA. He was then hired as a national production manager for a plant in Denmark, SC. He loved gardening and woodworking. His hobbies were carving, building and reading. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the American Red Cross of Plymouth. Survivors include his wife, Betty; one son, R. Wayne (Anita) Haug of Mt. Vernon, IA and their two sons and one daughter; one daughter, Shari L. (Chris) Giovannetti of Richmond, VA. and their one daughter; two brothers, Lewis (Ellen) Haug of Bremen, IN and David (Cathy) Haug of Plymouth, IN; two sisters, Sally (James) Scobey and Betty (Dennis) McVey, all of Plymouth, IN along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. (Central Time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will be at the Grovertown Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted. Friends may call Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m CT and Saturday after 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Red Cross.
