Andrew "Drew" Shearin

PLYMOUTH-Andrew "Drew" Thomas Carmean Shearin, 17, passed away Monday evening, October 10, 2011, the result of an automobile accident in Starke County. Drew was born August 1, 1994 in LaPorte, IN to Andy and Deborah (Carmean) Shearin and lived in the area all of his life. Survivors include his parents, Deb (Bryan) Johnson of Plymouth and Andy Shearin of Knox; one brother, Zackery Shearin of Bloomington; one sister, Kailee Shearin of Plymouth; one step-sister, Britne Johnson of LaPorte; one step-brother, Zachary (Heidi) Johnson of LaPorte; grandparents, Dick (Denzy) Carmean of Grovertown, Sue (Jim) Awald of Walkerton and Ann Shearin of Hamlet; step-grandparents, Carol and Pete Ratcliff of Florida; three nieces and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by one grandparent and one aunt. Drew was a Junior at Knox High School. He was a member of the Knox Nazarene Church Youth Group, the Drum Major for the Knox High School Marching Band, the Knox High School Jazz & Concert Bands and was twice an I.M.E.A. Composition Competition winner. He was also a member of the Knox High School Drama Department, the National Honor Society and the I.B.A. All District Honor Band. Funeral services will be Friday, October 14, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. (Central Time) at Knox High School. Friends may call Friday at Knox High School from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Drew Shearin Memorial Music Scholarship. Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel is handling arrangements.
