Miles Duckett

Miles Wesley Duckett, 18, of rural Walkerton, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from injuries sustained in an accident. Miles was born on January 18, 2007, and lived in the Walkerton area his entire life. A 2025 graduate of Rochester High School, Miles was a hardworking, handsome young man who was employed as a union carpenter with Gibson-Lewis Construction Local #413. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a hand whenever needed. A true outdoorsman, Miles loved spending time outside—whether it was around a bonfire, canoeing, or simply enjoying the peace of nature. He had a deep love for cars, was always up for an adventure, and, of course, cherished his sleep. Those who knew him best will remember his kind heart, lovable personality, and the way he made friends wherever he went. Miles was the type of person who could brighten any room with his easy smile and genuine spirit. He is survived by his loving parents, Wendy and Richard Duckett; siblings Brandon (Jessica) Duckett, Jeremy (Crystal) Duckett, Rickie Duckett, Jake Duckett, Amanda Duckett, and Ashley Duckett; grandparents Michael (Sandy) Ross and Ted Bierly; his best friends whom he spent most of his time with nephew Hunter Duckett, Jayden Leitch, and Aden Lowe; many nieces and nephews who adored him, and his former girlfriend, Aubrie Walker, who remained a close best friend. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Sonja Bierly, Russell and Carol Duckett, and Ada Duckett. A Gathering with Family and Friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. EDT at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made directly to them to assist with this tragic loss. Miles will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
