Leola M. Parker

Leola M. Parker of Walkerton passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Walkerton, following a lengthy illness. She was 80 years old. Born on June 19, 1945, in Plainwell, Michigan, Leola was the daughter of the late Clint and Florence (Fletcher) Rhoderick. A graduate of Plainwell High School, she lived a full and vibrant life—grounded in her deep faith and devoted love for her family. On October 1, 2016, Leola was united in marriage to Roger Parker at Koontz Lake Missionary Church, where she found spiritual strength and fellowship. Her love for the Lord was evident in all that she did, and she lived her life with grace, compassion, and a servant’s heart. Faith was not just part of her life—it was the foundation of who she was. In her younger years, Leola enjoyed an active lifestyle, spending time waterskiing, golfing, and playing tennis. She was also a movie lover, a talented gardener, and an especially gifted crafter. She poured creativity and care into her hobbies, whether through her intricate cross-stitching or sewing doll clothes for her daughter. Her gentle hands and loving spirit left lasting impressions on those she touched. Leola is survived by her loving husband, Roger Parker; her daughter Winona (Mark) Capek; her son Erick (Martha) Schultz; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters, Barbara (David) McBride and Lina (Charles) Oxender; and one sister-in-law, Mary Rhoderick. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Phyllis; and four brothers: John, Dale, George, and Mickey. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM CDT on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Koontz Lake Missionary Church, with funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to Koontz Lake Missionary Church in Leola’s honor. Leola’s faith, kindness, and creativity will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her. She has fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith—leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.
