Josephine I Flory

Josephine I. Flory, of North Judson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Born on December 10, 1940, in Hammond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late William and Marie (Oakley) Elea. Josephine was 85 years old. Josephine was a sweet, kind, and loving woman whose gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She married the love of her life, Ted Flory, and together they built a family that became the center of her world. Ted preceded her in death, but the love they shared remained a guiding light throughout her life. A faithful Christian, Josephine lived her life guided by compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for others. Her door was always open to those in need, especially children. Over the years, she offered comfort, guidance, and encouragement to many young people facing difficult circumstances, treating them with the same care and devotion she gave her own family. Family was truly Josephine’s greatest joy. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and nothing made her happier than being surrounded by those she loved. Her nurturing heart, warm smile, and selfless nature will be remembered and treasured by her family forever. Josephine also enjoyed watching baseball and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Special Olympics. Her kind heart and genuine concern for others reflected the values she carried throughout her life. She is lovingly survived by her four sons, Ted (Mari) Flory III, Ray (Carolyn) Flory, David (Johna) Flory, and Ron Flory; her two daughters, Kelli (Reese) Place and Jennifer Flory; many beloved grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted Flory; her daughter, Mary Jo Flory; and two grandchildren. In accordance with Josephine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Her family is honoring her request, and there will be no visitation or service at this time. Though she is no longer with us, Josephine’s legacy of love, kindness, faith, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
