Cynthia Wicks

Grovertown-It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cynthia Wicks, who departed this world on July 19th, 2023, at the Ernestine Raclin Hospice House in Mishawaka following a courageous battle with cancer. Cindi, as she was known by those closest to her, was born on April 13th, 1959 in Plymouth, IN to Fred and Elaine (Anderson) Koppenhofer. She grew up in Grovertown, where she developed a strong foundation of love and compassion that would resonate throughout her life. On August 26th of 1978, she married Daniel Wicks at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Donaldson, where she was a member. A beautiful soul, she loved the outdoors, attending wine and canvas events with her family, and making others laugh with witty comebacks. Cindi spent more time behind the camera than in front of it; capturing life's important moments so the rest of us could look back on them. One of Cindi's favorite things was spending Friday nights on the patio, listening to music, and watching the sunset with her husband Dan. She cherished life's simple pleasures and watching her daughters grow into successful young women, always acting as their biggest cheerleader. She is survived by her husband Dan of Grovertown; two daughters: Amy (Jim) Newman of Babcock Ranch, FL, and Tricia (Tyler) Rees of Plainfield, IN; four grandchildren Callisia Newman, Xyris Newman, Acer Newman, and Brody Rees; parents Fred and Elaine Koppenhofer of Grovertown; and two sisters Laura (Dan) Walser of Raleigh, NC, and Cheryl (Terry) Minix of Grovertown. The legacy of Cindi will forever live on in the hearts of her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and all who knew her. Her love and teachings will continue to inspire and shape their lives for generations to come. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Ernestine Raclin Hospice House in Mishawaka. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends from 2:00 to 3:00 CDT Saturday, July 29th, 2023 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 CDT at the funeral home.
