Brian K La Jeunesse

Brian K. La Jeunesse of Walkerton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at his home. He was born on March 17, 1962, in Dayton, Ohio, to David and Kathleen (Brown) La Jeunesse and was 64 years old at the time of his passing. Brian had called the Walkerton area home since 1993. Brian was a proud and dedicated veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country with honor before retiring from military service. His sense of pride in his service was a meaningful part of who he was. Brian had a deep appreciation and respect for American Indian culture and was actively involved in many aspects of it. He especially enjoyed crafting and drumming and looked forward to attending cultural events and gatherings. His genuine interest and participation earned him the special distinction of being recognized as an honorary member of a tribe, an honor he held with great pride. A man of many interests, Brian had a particular love for science fiction and science-fantasy movies, with The Lord of the Rings holding a special place among his favorites. He was also an avid reader who especially enjoyed medieval fantasy novels, often losing himself in the worlds of adventure, magic, and imagination found within their pages. Music was another source of enjoyment for Brian, and he especially loved old-school rock ’n’ roll. Whether enjoying a favorite movie, reading a good book, listening to music, working on a craft, or sharing time with friends, Brian found joy in the things that captured his imagination and reflected his many interests. Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Vivian “Josie” La Jeunesse; two brothers, Byron (Sonja) La Jeunesse and Rainard (Laura) La Jeunesse; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen La Jeunesse, and one brother, David C. La Jeunesse. Brian’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be no visitation or service planned at this time. Those who knew Brian will remember a proud Navy veteran, a thoughtful and curious man, and a person who embraced the cultures, stories, music, and worlds that inspired him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
